Jill Windmill and the surrounding grounds are available for hire.

We have hosted many events including birthday parties, wedding blessings, wedding celebrations, pop videos, photographic club events, film & photo & fashion shoots, anniversaries and retirement parties.

Jill Windmill is a 19th century windmill located in the South Downs National Park, offering breathtaking views across the Sussex Weald.
The weather can be spectacular or awful (often on the same day !).

As Jill was built as a corn windmill, and as she remains in fully working condition today, she is most certainly not a purpose built event venue !

The venue is best suited to events in the daytime, particularly in late Spring and in Summer when the windmill and her surroundings are seen at their best.

Please beware that bookings in Autumn, Winter and early Spring could be significantly affected by adverse weather conditions and shorter daylight hours.

We strongly recommend an advance site visit to discuss your requirements

Venue Notes :
There is electricity	Live and /or amplified music is permitted
Maximum capacity : 20 persons inside the windmill, plenty of room outside - weather permitting !	There is room on site to erect portable toilets
Benches & some chairs inside, outdoor seating	There is usually room on site to erect a tent, provided that there are no Sweeps on the ground undergoing painting or refurbishment
Counter top in the Roundhouse, from which to serve food and drink	Some foldaway tables available
Exclusive access to your party	Spectacular view and lots of fresh Sussex air
There is no running water	There are no toilets
There is no external lighting	Smoking is prohibited on site
Fireworks are not permitted
No central heating	Please bring along warm clothing and "sensible" shoes
